Who we are
CLIMACT is a Belgian firm supporting organisations through the energy and climate transition. From our Brussels headquarters, we work with private companies, public authorities and other organisations across Belgium and Europe , from long-term transition scenarios through to near-term strategy and change management, combining tailor-made consulting with our own models and off-the-shelf software. Our mission: empower our clients to turn climate ambition into action, towards a sustainable, net-zero society by 2050. (www.climact.com)
We're looking for a curious, mission and data-driven Junior Product Developer ready to dive into the heart of the energy and climate transition from day one.

What you'll own
You'll join our Product development (Prodev) team, who are responsible for building and running state-of-the-art digital tools behind Climact's work :
• Sirius, for climate risk analysis
• Pathways Explorer, for transition pathways
• myClimact, for carbon footprints, action plans and CSRD reporting
These tools are used every day by our consultants and by our clients. Working at Climact means real exposure from day 1 and a fast learning curve across the whole portfolio.
Concretely, you will:
- Be the first point of contact for our consultants and analysts when they run into a problem with one of our tools. This is the fastest way to learn the portfolio.
- Develop and maintain features across our products, with review and feedback on your work.
- Work with our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, and manage our test and production environments.
- Progressively become a second holder of critical operational knowledge: infrastructure as code, releases, authentication, monitoring.
- Document and automate what keeps coming back, so that it stops coming back.
- Contribute to the migration of legacy tools onto our myClimact platform.
We work with AI assistants as part of our standard development practice, supported by shared skill libraries, coding conventions and documented deployment procedures. You will use them daily, and help spread these practices to the consulting teams.
What you bring
- A genuine interest in climate and energy issues, and the ability to explain what draws you to them.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 0-3 years of working experience
- Very good knowledge of Python and data-related libraries (pandas, numpy, …).
- Comfort reading and understanding existing code, not only writing new code.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and agile project management tools (Jira, Odoo).
- An established practice of AI-assisted development: the ability to frame a problem before producing, and to verify the proposed solution.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Terraform) is a plus.
- Front-end experience (JavaScript, TypeScript) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Resourcefulness, and a habit of keeping an eye on how the technology is evolving.
- Comfort working autonomously on a defined scope, and flagging blockers early rather than late.
- A service mindset: a significant part of the first months is helping colleagues get unblocked.
- Curiosity, openness to learning, and adaptability across a broad portfolio of tools.
- Professional English, and either French or Dutch.
What We Offer
