Your Role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our dynamic team. You will assist directly the CFO in managing the organization’s financial operations and play a key role in ensuring close monitoring, financial transparency and supporting operational and strategic objectives. The role will focus on financial control of projects, working closely with project managers to bring more focus to financial results and foster a culture of financial discipline. This position offers a clear path for growth within the organization.

Job description

This open position, as part of a team of experienced consultants, include the following responsibilities : 

Strategic Planning & Budgeting

  • Support annual budgeting processes and periodic forecasting.
  • Monitor performance against budgets and provide actionable insights to optimize decision-making.

Financial Control, Reporting and Compliance

  • Work closely with business leaders and project managers to oversee project financials.
  • Provide necessary data for accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance analysis.
  • Implement and refine internal control systems and dashboards to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal standards.
  • Manage external audits and ensure proper documentation.

Cost Optimization, Cash Flows & Efficiency

  • Monitor and analyse costs, ensuring effective resource allocation aligned with organizational goals.
  • Support robust cash flow management to meet operational needs and strategic investments.
  • Enhance financial processes, systems, and tools to improve efficiency and decision-making.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Drive focus on financial results, educate teams, and promote a culture of financial discipline.
  • Work closely with leadership, external partners, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support informed decision-making.



Your profile 

Potential candidates should demonstrate the following experience and skills

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or similar are a strong asset.
  • You bring at least 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or controlling, ideally within a mission-driven or consulting organization.
  • You have a strong understanding of Belgian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • You are proficient in Odoo, MS Excel, and data analytics tools. These skills will be key to your success in the role.
  • You have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial data and educate non-financial stakeholders in a clear and actionable way. 
  • You are fluent in French, Dutch, and English. These language skills are essential to communicate and influence effectively within our bilingual team and with external stakeholders.
  • You are passionate about sustainability and aligned with CLIMACT’s mission and values.
