Sustainable Finance Consultant

Job description


CLIMACT is growing particularly fast in the financial sector and we are looking for talented individuals.

 Open position, as part of a team of experienced consultants, include the following responsibilities : 

  • Business development and preparation of ESG and climate change proposals for corporate financial institutions (“FI’s”, i.e. Banks, Insurances, Private Equity…)
  • Project management of climate change & ESG consultancy projects for FI’s
  • ESG and climate impact and risks/opportunities assessment, development and quantification of transition plans for FI’s and their clients
  • Identification and quantitative simulation of decarbonization opportunities and scenarios
  • Presenting results and key recommendations to senior management levels
  • Interpretation of results, communication and reporting according to international standards



Job requirements

Potential candidates should demonstrate the following experience and skills

  • Master or PhD degree with a strong link or interest in sustainability and financial institutions
  • Excellent understanding of banks and insurances business models, context and challenges
  • Financial, technical, societal and/or legal knowledge of sustainable finance and  FI’s climate risks & opportunities
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in strategic corporate consulting, business development or project management in the field of sustainable finance, climate change, ESG is an asset
  • Good knowledge of socio-economic implications of transition plans
  • Highly creative and autonomous, with strong teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong empathy and customer relationship management skills
  • Experience or knowledge of data mining, data analysis and modelling tools, in addition to proficiency in Excel and MS Office tools.
  • Experience of GHG emissions inventories and decarbonization strategies for FI’s is an asset
  • Strong communication skills at executive level is a strong asset.
  • A good understanding of corporate project finance is a plus
  • Work experience in France and/or Netherlands is an asset
